{Project 365} Day 31 Saturday Mornings

This picture can really be applied to all my mornings! I reminds me of my first picture of this project as well because it centers around coffee. f/2, 1/60s, ISO 1600, 50mm

{Project 365} Day 29-30

I took these pictures with my cell phone and added a Instagram filter. I've already shared them on Insta, but I am getting around to adding them here!

Day 29 is a snap shot of me folding laundry before 7am! Exciting and fun right?

Day 30 I am back dating this picture for the #thebethadillychallenge. The prompt was "I made this" and since I am not over crafty per se I made this list to show how far behind I've gotten on my #365 project!

I did not particularly get creative with these pictures. Can't you tell?

{Project 365} Day 26 Inspiration

She is my inspiration. It is because of her that I wanted to start taking pictures to begin with. And wouldn't you agree that some days you want to put on a pretty dress and dance?! f/1.8, 1/60s, ISO 1250, 50mm

{Project 365} Day 25 Sweet tooth

I have a major sweet tooth! I try and keep a small supply in the house to satisfy the urge when it strikes! Most recently, my quick go to is cookie dough. f/2, 1/60s, ISO 200, 50mm

{Project 365} Day 19: In My Cup

Honestly, I am kind of disappointed how this one turned out. It is pretty out of focus and not where I would have preferred. I know I rushed it. It looked better on my camera screen. This is all part of the growth process right? {rhetorical} The #thebethadillychallenge focus was in my cup and I wanted to show case the cupcake in conjunction with the milk I was going to have with it. f/2, 1/60s, ISO 500, 50mm
P.S. The cupcake was yummy!

{Project 365} Day 16-18 Shoes & Saving

Day 16 Shoes: It always seems that someone's shoes are lying out and about at the house and let's be honest because they are usually mine. f/2, 1/60s, ISO 640, 50mm
Day 17 Saturday shopping and saving. This quick pick was taken with my phone.
Day 18 Relax This is me this late morning/early afternoon. I am a big old homebody. I like to sit on the couch and marathon shows. This weekend's drug of choice is "Veronica Mars." Yup. I am a marshmallow. (nerd speak for fan).f/1.8 1/60s, ISO 2000 50mm

{Project 365} Day 14 & 15 Kind To Dos

To do: According to my life planner, my to do list keeps growing for January in regards to my work obligations. That’s a good thing right? f/2.5 1/60s, ISO 200 50 mm

{Project 365} Day 12-13

Day 12 of #thebethadillychallenge was to feature the letter "J" in some way. I've recently been reading about and trying essential oils. One of my friends recommend I purchase a book on them which she really liked. So, I bought it on Amazon and it arrived on this day. I was feeling particularly not so creative and I took a picture of the index on my phone with an Instagram filter.
Day 13 focus was "three." Yesterday, I took out the DSLR in hopes of being more creative or effortful in my picture today. The first thing I wanted to try an capture was my daughter with her play tea set. She wanted me to play more than be photographer so I waited for another idea. Little Miss started to tell me a story. I went back to my camera and laid on the floor with her. She is three so it works for the challenge. This picture was at f/5, 40s, ISO 3200, 18-55@40mm

Life Planner (Oxymoron, Right?)

I genuinely love being organized. I like knowing the answers to certain questions, crossing off my to dos, and having goals. Life seems a little smoother and more manageable. Yes, I am a little Type A, but that is another story.

I really haven't used  planner for my "my life" since graduating high school. Fun fact: I still have my high school planners! My work life has revolved around my desk calendar. At the start of every school year, I sit down and put in my required meetings, class pacing etc.

My home planning is a little more sparse or scattered (those are good terms to use I think). I sometimes meal plan which will guide my grocery shopping. The hubs and I keep a dry erase board on the fridge to upcoming obligations and events like conferences, doctor appointments etc. I really love that idea.

Last weekend, I got the "wind up my skirt" to amp it up when it came to my planner. You see, I bought a planner at Wal-Mart for keeping up with blogging and photography. However, neither of these things have "taken off" in a way that is like business. I didn't want a planner with a bunch of blank pages so I started putting more and more in it and it snow balled from there.

My "snowballing" eventually lead me to Pinterest in search of ideas. I read about the Rolls Royce of planners, The Erin Condren Life Planner. Don't get me wrong these planner are cute and have lots of features, but I don't know if $50 is a good price for a planner when I have he tendency to start things and then stop {hobby whore, remember}.  However, Pinterest and the posted links did give me some good ideas on things I could do to and in my planner.

Here is what I have so have:
Binder pouch
Washi tape
Post its
Extra tabs
Colored pens
Assorted stickers (from my scrap booking days, Walmart and Etsy)

So far, I really like that the planner is helping me with the 365 photography project. I wrote down all the #thebethadillychallenge prompts so I know what my picture to suppose to focus on. I've also tried to note my weekend chore rotation. I know I clean up to clean up, but it's nice to know if you know what I mean?!

This upcoming week I am going to try meal planning our dinners in my planner. I know it can be done, but I've got to take the time to do it!

Be purposeful is the theme I am noticing here. For example, I am trying to purposeful plan out some of my 30 before 30 goals and family activities. I have left myself notes throughout the plan to set this up or go and do this.

It's like the reminder note it yelling at me or silently judging me if I don't  do it,

In the extra notes sections, I added tabs and created new areas which I think are helpful to me. This includes my house to dos/projects, birthday party planning, and blogging ideas.

Ultimately, the quest continues.....we'll see where it take me.

{Project 365} Days 8-11

Yes, I got little behind on post my 365 pictures. If I am being honest, I also got a little lazy taking out the DSLR the last few days for the project. All the following pictures were posted to my IG and were taken with my phone. On the bright side, I am glad to be sticking with it so far. I feel guilty when I think of not doing it. All good signs, right? I am thankful for the bethadilly challenge prompts. They are keeping me task oriented.

Day 8 Circle
Day 9 Simple moment of play time involving crayons.
Day 10 Warm Chinese Dumplings. We splurged on some take out Saturday. It was so worth it!
Day 11 Favorite Sunday Pot Roast for dinner. I think it's a little funny that my last two pictures revolved around food.

{Project 365} Day 6 & 7 Calm Perspective

Day 6 "Calm" Yea, it's me in my comfy pants watching TV on the couch. I can promise you I was quite calm and relaxed! I took this picture with my phone and put an IG filter on it. I really wish I had a pedicure in this picture. Oh well.

Day 7 Perspective There is something magical and inspirational about a child's point of view. They see the world in a special way. I took this picture on my 50 mm 1/60 s, f/4, 3200 ISO. I wanted a tight, close shot {fill the frame} to capture her eyes. While I don't think I got that shot, I like how the focus is on her face.

{Project 365} Day 5: Kiddo Breakfast

Today's theme idea from #thebethadillychallenge is breakfast. I took this picture on my phone and posted to IG! Feel free to comment, critique or encourage. We shall see what tomorrow brings.

{Project 365} Day 4: Miss Sally

For today's 365 picture, I decided to focus on my dogs. I am sure this will not be the first time they make their appearance throughout this year! What I like about this picture is that I caught some light in her eyes. I tried to use the natural light filtering through my front door. Additionally, I love that the focus is just on her face and you get that close up look with a strong blurry background. I am not sure if I captured the half light on her face, but I tried.  Please feel free to comment, critique, and encourage.

30 Before 30: Bible Study

If you've been paying attention, you know that I've thrown the gauntlet down with a big to do list before I turn the big 30 in October. I wrote about painting and buying a new dog most recently, but behind
scenes I have started a bible study.

Unfortunately, I am doing this bible study alone, but I think for now it is a good thing. The accountability is square on my shoulders. I am learning so that is a wonderful thing! I definitely feel a a calming when I am reading and studying.

I have been doing my study on the book of John. I am actually following the website She Reads Truth. I stumbled upon them on Pinterest. I didn't buy the study journal they offer. Instead, I am reading the required verses and reading my footnotes that are for the verses. The explanations and history are insightful (as they should be in study bible).

Last night, I came across this bible study acronym called SOAK which sounds like a good idea for me to try since I don't have the bible study journal book (and since I am doing this one solo). It is a method that has been used by other ministries and other websites. The quick gist is this:

S – The S stands for Scripture (read)
O – The O stands for Observation What stands out to you? What do you learn about the character of God from these verses?
A – The A stands for Application What is God saying? Are there changes you need to make?
K – The K stands for Kneeling in Prayer

I have got a couple weeks before I am officially done with this one, so please be in prayer for me. This is not about the 30 before 30 as much as it is about growing closer with my Lord. God bless you all!

{Project 365} Day 3: Planner

{3|365} Attempting a planner to stay organized with blogging, photography, and if course teaching! Maybe I'll add cleaning.... How long will it last? We shall see! I took this photo with my phone. I did not have the motivation to break out the DSLR today between grocery shopping, cleaning and being a mom!

{Project 365} Day 2: Bible

For today's picture, I was inspired by "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet." One of my goals for this year is to spend more time in bible study. I used a flame less candle for the light spot. Please feel free to comment, critique, and encourage.

{Project 365} Day 1: Coffee

My interest in photography began with wanting to photograph my family. Now, I am prepared to photograph much, much more as I begin my first 365 project here in 2015. The goal is a picture a day. I am excited to learn and grow. I know there will be bumps and hiccups along the way. Please feel free to comment, critique, and encourage.

I can't think of a better way to start my day and this photo challenge than with a great cup of coffee. Cheers!
